From: fake@no-spam-on.net (K) Subject: ASSC: AFTSD-2 My first visit to Tally Ho, Las Vegas NV. Date: Tue, 2 Dec 1997 03:08:37 -0700 This post is probably too long and contains info not directly related to strip clubs, but so what I'm going to write about it anyway. If you want the Tally Ho review, just skip down to that part. Before I get started let me thank LMR and others who have posted about the Vegas strip clubs. Also thanks to others, such as ZBone and Marc182 for their web pages providing accurate reviews of the strip clubs in their areas. BTW I can't vouch for ZBones or LMR strip club reviews, but I have been to all of the Tucson strip clubs and Marc's web page is far more accurate that TUSCL. Due to a previous extremely bad experience with Las Vegas I swore off visiting that city and any of strip clubs. At the time I thought it would be permanent. Two events however changed my mind, and made me decide to visit Vegas again. The first, was this newsgroup. The second was a singles club, which I am a member, scheduled a trip to Vegas for the first weekend in August. As at the time I was looking to get away, I decided to take a chance and sign up for the trip. At the time going to any strip club was only secondary. Well we flew up to Vegas Friday afternoon and the first evening we stayed pretty much together as a group. Although, the strip was unstructured, there were several optional events. So the first night I was busy with dinner at the Dive, a restaurant that is right at home on the strip. Followed by little gambling, where I actually came out ahead, a first for me. (Only $20 though, I'm not a big gambler.) With the final group event for the evening, watching 4 of our members strap a big elastic cord to their ankles and leap off a tower. I of course did not participate, in the bungee jumping as: 1. I am a firm believer in Murphy Law, and I know if I was ever you try it, the cord would snap. 2. I'm not about to pay good strip club money to jump off a perfectly good tower. I did watch the one veteran bungee jumper make his fifth jump, along with three others make their very first jumps. In other words, they supplied the free entertainment for the evening. One observation about Nevada, you can find bars just about anywhere. The bungee jumping place had it's own bar and souvenir shop. I don't know if the bar is for before or after the jump. I do know we spent more time hanging around the bar afterwards watching everyone's videotape of the jump than we did actually watching the jump. Saturday morning, there was no scheduled events, until dinner that evening. My roommate, who is not into strip clubs, wanted to do every roller coaster in town. I on the other hand, was thinking about visiting Tally Ho. Before I left Tucson, I plugged the addresses of Tally Ho and a few other strip clubs to get a general idea of where they were located. I was halfway expecting Tally Ho to be way off strip as one review indicated that it was in a industrial area. I was somewhat surprised that Tally Ho was located relatively close to the Stratosphere. The roller coaster on top of the Stratosphere was the first one on my roommates list, so we headed off to the Stratosphere, stopping for breakfast on the way. My roommate was after the roller coaster. As for myself, I not only wanted to play the tourist role, but check out the location of Tally Ho. Well we both ended up walking to the Stratosphere. My roommate went straight to the roller coaster, with only a brief look around on the observation deck. I however spent several minutes, walking around looking at the scenery, the strip, downtown from a distance, peoples backyards (The people living east of the Stratosphere must be pissed.) and trying to see how many of the strip clubs I could locate. Had no problem locating Olympic Gardens, Cheetahs and Tally Ho. Where I quickly realized the only way I will reach Tally Ho is if I take a cab. From a purely distance perspective, it would have been possible to walk to Tally Ho. I had already covered more than that distance walking to the Stratosphere, so distance is not the problem. One review of Tally Ho indicated that it is in a industrial area. That's an understatement. Tally Ho is located in a industrial area, just south of Sahara, tucked between the railroad tracks on the East and the Interstate on the West. Distance from the strip is no problem, accessibility from the strip is a major problem for anyone walking. To walk from the strip to Tally Ho would have involved, first walking though one of the more run down areas of Vegas, with plenty of transients laying around. Followed, by either crossing multiple railroad tracks or using the overpass at Sahara. What's more, at the time, the railroad tracks were occupied by two long trains. And I could not make out any form of sidewalk on the overpass, but there was plenty of traffic. After I felt I got my $5 worth from the Stratosphere I headed back to the hotel. Most of the group had dispersed with everyone doing whatever they came to Vegas for. I spent the remaining morning hanging out at the hotel trying to see what the others were up to. Some were hanging around the pool, so I joined them for a while. But, the problem with hanging out at the pool is that even with the overhead misters it gets hot. After taking as much sun and heat as I can take, I decide that it is now time to visit Tally Ho. So I then caught a cab. (Yes folks this is where the review starts.) When the cab arrived at Tally Ho, I was not surprised at the size of the club, nor was I surprised when the cabbie followed me into the club. From the reviews of the Las Vegas strip clubs and their policies towards cabbies I expected a small club and for the cabbie to follow me. I don't think this cabbie deserved any kick-back from the club however. The cabbie who took me back to the hotel, actually charged me $2 less (about 20%) than the first cabbie. I ended up giving them both the same amount of money however. The second cabbie got a extra $2 tip. I paid the cover in the little vestibule then was buzzed into the lower floor of the main club. The club was just as described in other reviews. There was a small downstairs stage with pole. No dancers were dancing on this stage at the time and it seemed like it's only purpose was to trip the unwary when walking into the club. Along one wall was the bar with about a half a dozen bar stools. There was also a TV set above the bar showing what was happening on the upstairs stage. This proves that they have at least one camera so the management can watch what goes on in the club. (BTW Tally Ho would not be the first club I have been in with cameras. TD's East has, or at least had, 4 cameras which were monitored in their office.) I didn't spend much time downstairs as the waitress led me upstairs to the main room. To those who have not read other Tally Ho reviews, the chairs in the upstairs area would be a pleasant surprise. They are probably some of the most comfortable chairs in any strip club. The are not the typical club chairs, but the kind you might have in your own living room. There's not many of them, as Tally Ho is a tiny club. A quick count reviled there was only between 15 and 20 chairs. Nice and cozy, but could fill up fast. By comparison, Empress, Tucson's sorry excuse for a totally nude strip club only has 18 chairs and they are all bar stools. The Empress has a bigger stage and is part of a larger porn shop. This makes Tally Ho the smallest strip club I have ever been in. If you count only the area used for dancing, the Empress would be a close second. I then grabbed one of those chairs, at first away from the stage as all chairs stage side were full. Ordered my $6 coke form the waitress. Then proceeded to exhaust my supply of singles tipping the dancers on stage. Fortunately the stage side seats did not stay occupied and I was able to sped most of my time in those seats. At the time there was only 4 dancers dancing. All about average in looks. They all trimmed, but only one of them shaved. I am a fan of the bald beaver look. BTW Don't ask me for any dancers names. I don't remember them. One feature of Tally Ho is they have a juke box and not a DJ. Not having a DJ means you don't have to listed to their BS, but you also don't get the names of the dancers drummed into you with every song. Tally Ho is also the only club I have ever been in that does not have a DJ, so the silence was appreciated. I spent some time just tipping them stage, passing my money pretty much evenly between all 4 dancers. I didn't go to Tally Ho just to tip on stage. I had selected Tally Ho over the other clubs due to the presence of the "Fox Dens". For those who have not read any other reviews of Tally Ho, the Fox Den is a private booth where you can get private totally nude lap dances. I asked the shaver, about the Fox Den when she was just stepping off stage and I think I must have misunderstood her. I thought she said the price was $170 plus $20 a dance. As this was much higher than reported I declined, and opted for a $20 dance in the back chairs. I was not disappointed as the mileage was higher anything I am accustom to in Tucson. In Tucson, having a dancer, and a totally naked one at that, spend the entire time in your lap is very rare. Here it seems to be normal. I enjoyed it enough to ask for another dance. The dancer indicated that she wanted to go home instead. No, it's not what you may think. I somehow managed to start getting lap dances right at shift change. It was time for the day shift to leave and the evening shift to arrive. That was no problem as the evening shift had two ladies who shaved. One of these had a tattoo, but other was pretty enough. (Ladies, never get a tattoo, some men such as myself think any tattoos is ugly. I reject many dancers just because they have a tattoo.) The lady without the tattoo was on stage first. When she go off she then asked me for a dance. As she also shaved and looked just as good girl who had to go home, I said yes. She turned out, however to be better than the first dancer in the lap dancing department. After the first dance I asked her for another and she suggested the Fox Den. She also corrected my possible misunderstanding about the price. The $170 was the full price. $70 to the club and the remaining $100 to her for a total of 6 dances. I said OK and then went downstairs to complete the transaction and to tell the waitress I needed another Coke. Now this is where things start to get interesting and could have created a major problem and disappointment. After I have already paid the club and dancer, the dancer starts raising hell with the bartender, who also seems to have the role as manager. The problem is the Fox Den is full. Some guy has been in there for the last 2 hours and he wants to go another half hour. This does not bother me as much as it does the dancer. I'm in no big hurry and as long as I get my time in before meeting the rest the group for dinner I'm not concerned. I sit back down at the stage, thinking it's going to be another half hour before I get to see what the Fox Den is like. The manager then approaches me and offers me a Tally Ho VIP card if I will wait. He indicates that it's a $100 value. This of course gives me the sense of déjà vu. No not the strip club. When I took the flight to Vegas the airline was overbooked and they were asking for volunteers. Interesting parallel, airline asking for people willing to be bumped, strip club manager asking for volunteers to be bumped. And both offering compensation. I tell the manager the truth. I'm from out of town and have no use for a Tally Ho VIP card as I don't know when I'll be back. The manager then offers me $20. I agree, after all I was not expecting any compensation only a half hour wait. The manager goes downstairs to get the $20 when the dancer arrives indicating the Fox Den is free. Which is a unexpected surprise as I have already cut a deal with the manager. The manager the shows up, shakes my hand to palm both the VIP card and $20 to me. Then the dancer and I head off to the Fox Den. Upon arrival I sit down on one end of the love seat in the tiny room to give the dancer a space to sit down. She then tells me to move over towards the center. She then sits down, completely naked, next to me with both legs on my lap. We talk until the current song finishes up and during this time I ask her about her rules. She first tells me Las Vegas rules then her own. I like her own rules much better. Rules I had no intention of violating. She then starts dancing for me. I don't remember all of her moves, but they were acceptable and of higher mileage than what I am use to. I do let my hands start to wander at one point and she pushes them back to a safe region. Naturally, as I don't want to piss off a dancer regardless of her rules I keep my hands is a safe region. Next song, however she proves to me she was sincere about her rules as she sits down next me again. At the time my hand is on her stomach. She then gently pushes it south. She, lets me keep my hand there for a few minutes massaging some delicate parts then gets up and starts grinding me again. After about 3 songs, two firsts happen in my strip club experiences. It was the only time I have ever stopped a lap dance in progress. It was the only time I ever needed to stop a dance. I was also too late. The thoughts that went through my head and actions performed were: 1. This feels good. 2. Oh, oh better have her slow down. 3. Songs about over, she'll take a brake then. Just hold out until then. 4. Song ends. 5. She continues not missing a stroke. 6. Next song starts. 7. Me: "Wait" 8. Dancer: "Huh". Turns to look at me without breaking stride. 9. Me: "Too Late" 10. Dancer continues looking at me, without stopping until it she realizes what happened. 11. Dancer: "Oh" 12. Dancer: "Do you need a baby wipe." After that dance, she got me a baby wipe and we talked for the remainder of the time. She indicated that it does happen. Also says she hates it when some guys come in obviously expecting that to happen. She also told me about one guy who actually came in with hand lotion and tissues. She thought that was way too much. She also indicated that we were lucky in the curtains were drawn. They had been forced to leave them open. But apparently because the of the wait, the manager allowed them to be closed. After the Fox Den I went back to the stage to finish my Coke and then the dancer gave me a free pass to the club. I accepted the pass, even though I had the VIP card. At the time I did not think I would ever use either the card or pass so I left thinking they were just a couple of souvenirs from Tally Ho. As it turns out I have used the VIP card. The above story is actually from my first visit to Tally Ho. Last month, my employer sent me to Comdex and I visited Tally Ho again. That story will have to wait. I did find out on my second visit what the downstairs stage is for. It's for Comdex. In all of the reviews I have read the downstairs stage was unused. I saw it used on my visits to Tally Ho during Comdex. One final note. Giving me the VIP card and $20 for waiting shows the Tally Ho has class. Far more than most of the clubs I have been in. They could have just told me to wait but they didn't they offered me the card and money. This action shows Tally Ho cares about their customers. More clubs should have the same attitude. Thanks to all who bothered to read this entire post. I knew it would be long so I was saving it for AFTSD. I'll try to relate my adventures on my two more recent visits to Tally Ho, but they won't make it to AFTSD-2. Ken -- E-Mail address is fake to cut down on E-Mail spam.
